Penn vs Sport Brands
Penn Bookstore also offers Penn-Branded apparel from well-known designer brands, the most popular of which are Nike, Under Armor, and Adidas. This section explores how different Penn's prices are from the originals.
Penn vs Nike
The chart above shows the price of Penn apparel from Nike relative to the Nike price of that same item. The Girls Cotton Crop, One 7'' Short, Therma Top, and Fleece Pullover Hoodie have small markups that you would expect at the Penn Bookstore.

Surprisingly, several of the items are actually cheaper at Penn. For example, the Nike Cap costs $32 but the Penn-branded version at the bookstore only costs $29.98. The fleece crew which costs $65 at the Nike store only costs $60 at the Penn Bookstore. If you're considering buying a Nike Cap, tempo short, Dri-Fit Legend T-shirt, or Fleece Crew, you're better off buying a uniquely Penn-branded version which is the same price or cheaper.
Penn vs Under Armor
The chart above shows the price of Penn apparel from Under Armor relative to the Under Armor price of that same item. The chart shows that many Under Armor items are either much cheaper than the original price or much more expensive. For example, a fleece hood costs $45 at the Under Armor store but costs $65 at the Penn Bookstore! Similarly, the sackpack only costs $25 at Under Armor, but a Penn one costs $42.98.

On the other hand, the Penn Bookstore offers a variety of items at a markdown from the Under Armor sale price. Two of the products with the most drastic markdowns are the Knod Hood which costs $34.99 at Penn but a whopping $75 at Under Armor, and the Ascend Quarter Zip which costs $60 at UA but only $29.98 at Penn.
These discrepancies offer a great opportunity to get a great deal on Under Armor items by buying the same Penn-branded ones at the Bookstore for cheaper prices.
Penn vs Adidas
The chart above shows the price of Penn apparel from Adidas relative to the Adidas price of that same item. Unlike in the case of the Under Armor and Nike collections, Penn has no markdowns on items from the Adidas store. In fact, Penn's markups at the Adidas store are quite large. Penn charges $79.98 for the trailing pant, game hood, and training jacket although these items have very different prices at the Adidas store. Specifically, the penn-branded training pant costs twice as much as the original.
If you want to buy designer sportswear at the Penn Bookstore, you're better off buying adidas sportswear at the Adidas store and limiting your purchases at the Bookstore to the marked down Under Armor and Nike items.
